The young Slovak bass Peter Kellner is one of the most promising opera singers of his generation. Already at his early career he performed with the most importatnt opera companies including Metropolitan Opera New York, Royal Ballet and Opera London, Staatsoper Berlin as well as Salzburger Festspiele. He joined the ensemble of the Vienna State Opera in 2018, performing major roles such as Figaro (Le nozze di Figaro), Leporello and Masetto (Don Giovanni), Gulielmo (Così fan tutte), Papageno (Die Zauberflöte), Basilio (Il barbiere di Seviglia), Colline (La Bohème), Frère Laurent (Roméo et Juliette), Rè di Scozia (Ariodante), Theseus(Midsummer night´s dream), Il Re (Aida), Nachtwächter (Die Meistersinger) and Zuniga (Carmen).

 

In the current season he is going to make his debut at the Lyric Opera Chicago as Figaro
(Le nozze di Figaro), he is going to appear for the first time at the Semperoper Dresden as Raimondo (Lucia di Lammermoore) and make his debut as Escamillo (Carmen) at the Slovak National Theatre. He will also perform Beethoven’s 9th Symphony with the Radio France.

 

Recent highlights have been Figaro in Le nozze di Figaro (Teatro Colón Buenos Aires, Glyndebourne Festival, Staatsoper Unter den Linden Berlin, Volksoper Wien, Oper Graz), Papageno in Die Zauberflöte (Royal Ballet and Opera London, Teatro Giuseppe Verdi Trieste, Teatro della Maestranza in Seville), Colline in La Bohème (Metropolitan Opera, Royal Ballet and Opera London, Oper Graz), Osmin in Die Entführung aus dem Serail (Staatsoper Hamburg, Oper Graz), Basilio in Il Barbiere di Seviglia (Festival Valle D’Itria, Oper Graz) and Water Gnome in Rusalka (Prague National Theatre).
